Sherrone Moore and Michigan football have been aggressive on the recruiting trail

The Michigan football team has six recruits on campus this weekend, including a couple of top offensive line prospects.

Sherrone Moore and Michigan football have been aggressive in recruiting, as the new head coach promised.

Over the previous week, Michigan football has welcomed several outstanding recruits. Jadon Blair and Andrew Babalola, two of the top 100 prospects, paid a visit last weekend.

The early returns on those trips were positive, and new running backs coach Tony Alford is doing a remarkable job recruiting running backs, with three top-200 backs visiting in the last week, two of whom were from Ohio.

This weekend, however, is all about the offensive line. According to On3.com, there are six visitors on campus, including five offensive linemen. Douglas Utu, a top-100 interior offensive lineman, is in Ann Arbor on Saturday. He is 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, and ranked 57th overall.

The top recruit from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas is a former teammate of Micah Kaapana, a three-star running back who was unjustly undervalued in the 2024 class.

Utu isn’t the only major target coming this weekend. Jack Lange, a 6-foot-8 offensive lineman from Eureka, Missouri, is also visiting. He has formal visits scheduled with Nebraska, Missouri, and Michigan football. He is considered a Notre Dame lean, but the Wolverines signed Andrew Sprague in the 2024 class, so this feels like a similar draw.

This weekend, the Wolverines will have visits from Kaden Strayhorn, Hardy Watts, Michael Carroll, and three-star defensive back Josh Johnson. Michigan is not trending toward any commitments, but that might change soon if the Wolverines can convert their positive momentum into something tangible, such as the first commitment of the Sherrone Moore era.
