Seattle Seahawks’ Starting CB Has Been Cleared To Return From Injured Reserve -Out Since Week 2

Starting cornerback Coby Bryant of the Seattle Seahawks has been placed on injured reserve.

Bryant can work out with the team for a maximum of 21 days before Seattle activates him off injured reserve. Bryant had a toe injury in Week 2, which has prevented him from playing.

The Seattle Seahawks corner played college ball at Cincinnati.

Bryant made a 2017 season commitment to play for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Bryant made four tackles while mostly playing on special teams.

In his second year, Bryant took over as the starting cornerback. In September, he broke his hand, but he was wearing a cast for the final nine games. 33 tackles, 2 interceptions, 9 pass deflections, and 1 forced fumble were all part of his stats.

In his junior season, Bryant recorded 54 tackles, 2.5 for loss, one interception, and eight pass deflections. He was selected for the All-Academic Team of the 2019 AAC.

In his final season, Bryant recorded 35 tackles, one for a loss, four interceptions, seven pass deflections, and one forced fumble. He was included in the All-AAC First Team for 2020.Bryant made the decision to play his final season in Cincinnati in 2021 after the NCAA granted him one additional year of eligibility as a result of the epidemic.

In his last season, Bryant recorded 44 tackles, 1.5 for loss, three interceptions, one pick-six, eleven pass deflections, and two forced fumbles. In addition to winning the Jim Thorpe Award, he was chosen to the AP All-American Second Team and the First Team All-AAC for 2021. The best defensive back in the country is honored with the Jim Thorpe Award. The second player outside of the Power 5 to win the honor was Bryant.

Bryant slid in the 2022 draft.

The Seattle Seahawks selected Kobe Bryant in the 4th round, 109th overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft. He slid in the draft because he tested poorly in the pre-draft process, he ran a slow 40 time at 4.54, he has issues with physicality, and struggled at tackling.

Bryant’s rookie season.

Bryant appeared in every game and started in six during his rookie season. He had 70 tackles, four for loss, two sacks, four pass deflections, and four forced fumbles. He went 54/72 for 657 passing yards and three touchdowns with a 116.5 passer rating in coverage.

Bryant’s second season.

Bryant started the season as the starting cornerback. Bryant has 11 tackles and is 9/10 for 77 passing yards with a 98.7 passer rating in the first two games.

Will Bryant have a role in Seattle?

Don’t expect Coby Bryant to start once he’s activated off injured reserve. Devon Witherspoon and Tariq Woolen are locked in the secondary, and Tre Brown has been playing great in place of Bryant’s absence and isn’t going to give up his spot.

Bryant will only get playing time if one of their starting cornerbacks gets injured or if any of them struggles.
