David Ozoh, a Crystal Palace midfielder, has joined Derby County on loan for the season.

The 19-year-old Palace youth graduate has made 13 Premier League outings but has yet to start a game for the Eagles.

Ozoh, who was born in Valencia, Spain, but has represented England at the under-18 level, had previously been linked with a move to Plymouth, Derby’s Championship rivals currently managed by former Rams manager Wayne Rooney.

“I felt like this was the best place to kick-start my career,” Ozoh told Derby’s website.

“I played a couple of games last season and was on the bench a bit too. But that can get a bit frustrating, so I thought I should go out and get some games. So, I’m really happy to be here.”

Derby have signed four midfielders this summer, with Ozoh joining Ben Osborn, Kenzo Goudmijn, and Ebou Adams at Pride Park.

Forwards Jerry Yates, Kayden Jackson, and Corey Blackett-Taylor, who signed on loan from Charlton last season, have also joined Derby following their promotion from League One.

Rams manager Paul Warne stated that he began the summer looking for 12 new signings as he rebuilds his team for their return to the Championship following a two-year sabbatical.

Derby begin their season at Blackburn Rovers on Friday, August 9.
