Seahawks vs. Rams game, two rookies are predicted to be cut

Before facing the Los Angeles Rams in their divisional match, the Seattle Seahawks (6-3) are making moves.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, Elite Loyalty Sports first revealed that Seattle was adding veteran Jason Peters to the active roster.

“Very proud of our very own, future first-ballot Hall of Famer Jason Peters, who is signing a contract with the Seattle Seahawks for the remaining 2023 NFL Season!” was the message shared by Peters’ agency on social media.

The news of the promotion is hardly shocking. This season, Seattle has used the league-mandated three times for offensive tackles to be promoted from the practice squad. The Seahawks must make a cut before playing the Rams on Sunday because they have a full roster. Analysts predict that Abraham Lucas will return shortly, which means that two rookies are likely to be cut.

Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times believes Seattle will bench McClendon Curtis and/or Raiqwon O’Neal. Neither of the former undrafted rookies has received much playing time since they were both signed off waivers in September.

Mookie Alexander of the Field Gulls and Corbin K. Smith of SI both concur. Smith speculated that Curtis and O’Neal might be waived in an attempt to sneak them onto the practice squad.

“Both players have been on the active roster since being called up from different practice squads, so if injuries recur at the position, they could be elevated up to three times, which would be ideal from a depth perspective.”

O’Neal was originally cut from the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Curtis was plucked from the Las Vegas Raiders by Seattle.
