Seahawks Tackle Set To Resume To Practice
|Seahawks tackle Abraham Lucas will return to practice this week, as expected.
Abraham Lucas, a right tackle for the Seahawks, has been cleared to resume practice after serving an injured reserve absence of the previous eight games.
Pete Carroll, the Seahawks coach, stated last week that Lucas ought to return to the practice field before Seattle’s Week 11 matchup with Los Angeles, so this move was anticipated. Lucas will practice this week after missing the season opener due to a knee injury, but it’s too soon to tell if he’ll be able to play in the Rams game this week.
Carroll responded, “We’re going to see,” when questioned on Monday regarding the likelihood of Lucas playing this weekend. “What we’re going to observe is his behavior, appearance, attitude, and reaction to the demands of playing football.” He could, he has a chance. We’ll watch and see.”
The Seahawks have started Stone Forsythe and Jake Curhan at right tackle in Lucas’ absence. Jason Peters has also seen action at that position in the last three games, splitting time with Forsythe.
The Seahawks’ 53-man roster cap does not currently apply to Lucas, a 2022 third-round pick who started 16 of his 17 games as a rookie. However, in order for Lucas to participate in a game, a move to add him to the roster would need to be made. After practicing for up to 21 days without being added to the roster, players returning from injured reserve must either make a move to be added to the roster or remain on injured reserve for the balance of the season.
