Seahawks Make Two Moves To Their Roster Which Will Excite The Fans

The Seattle Seahawks are back in action right away after their disappointing 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

They will visit the San Francisco 49ers in another pivotal divisional game on Thanksgiving.

In an attempt to bounce back from the setback, the Seahawks made a few significant roster changes on Monday in order to start getting ready for the big holiday game.

The first move, and the one that Seahawks supporters are most likely to be thrilled about, was allowing cornerback Coby Bryant to return from injured reserve during a 21-day practice window. Bryant, a Cincinnati native and 2022 fourth-round selection, had a strong rookie campaign with 70 total stops, two sacks, four passes defensed, and four forced fumbles. But he’s been sidelined since Week 2 of this season due to a terrible toe injury.

The Seahawks have three weeks to decide whether to reinstate Bryant to the 53-man roster or leave him on injured reserve for the remainder of the campaign. At least statistically, the Seahawks’ pass defense is rated as average to below average, so Bryant’s return may be a major plus.

The Seahawks signed offensive tackle Jake Curhan to the practice squad as their second, less significant move. Curhan was added to the 53-man roster by the Seahawks on an undrafted free agency basis in 2021. However, on Saturday, Curhan was cut to provide space for veteran tackle Jason Peters. This season, the 25-year-old has played in nine games, starting four of them, mostly taking the place of injured lineman Abraham Lucas.

The 49ers game is quickly approaching, so it wouldn’t be shocking if the Seahawks made additional roster changes over the week.
