Seahawks designate safety to return, elevate star to the practice squad

Curhan continues to be a part of the practice squad, but Bryant now has a 21-day window to practice while he’s on injured reserve.

The division rival Los Angeles Rams handed the Seattle Seahawks a heartbreaking 17-16 loss on Sunday, handing Sean McVay’s team their second season sweep of Pete Carroll’s Hawks in as many seasons. With a short week due to the Thanksgiving Day game against the San Francisco 49ers in just three days, there isn’t time to unwind, though.

In light of this, Seattle opened a 21-day practice window for safety Coby Bryant on Monday by designating him for return from injured reserve. After clearing waivers, offensive lineman Jake Curhan was also added by the Hawks to the practice squad.

In order to create space on the roster for Jason Peters to be promoted to the 53-man roster, Curhan was waived on Saturday. Since Peters’ promotion to the active roster on Saturday had already left a spot on the practice squad empty, there was no need to make a corresponding move to make room for Curhan.

Curhan is back with the team, so fans who were concerned that a different team might make a claim for him can now put those worries to rest.
