Seahawks add RB and WB from injured reserve

In preparation for their matchup with the Washington Commanders today, the Seattle Seahawks activated running back Kenny McIntosh and wide receiver Dareke Young from injured reserve.

Since the beginning of the regular season, Young and McIntosh have both been placed on injured reserve. In late August, Young underwent surgery to treat an abductor injury in his hip. McIntosh, meanwhile, has been sidelined since early August because of a knee injury sustained during the team’s simulated game scrimmage at Lumen Field.

Young was chosen in the seventh round of the NFL Draft and made 13 appearances in his rookie season for Seattle last year. Despite only catching two passes for 24 yards, Young proved he could be a valuable member of the special teams unit.

This year, McIntosh was selected in the seventh round and will play in his first game as an active player. McIntosh will contribute to the depth at running back as DeeJay Dallas’s availability is uncertain due to a shoulder injury.

Kyu Blu Kelly, a cornerback, was waived by the Seahawks to make room on the roster. After waiving nose tackle Austin Faoliu earlier this week, Seattle already had a spot available on the roster. Kelly, who plays only on special teams for the Seahawks, made five appearances in the season. At the beginning of the regular season, the Baltimore Ravens claimed him off waivers.

Furthermore, for the third week in a row, tackle Jason Peters was promoted from the practice squad. He will not be able to be promoted from the practice squad again unless he is added to the active roster.
