“I am extremely pleased to be able to add Bill O’Brien to our coaching staff.”

But Ohio State has made a significant increase to their staff, which they will definitely hope will benefit the club heading into next season.

On Friday morning, the Ohio State Buckeyes formally announced the hiring of Bill O’Brien as offensive coordinator. O’Brien was previously the head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Houston Texans, as well as the Alabama Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator in 2021 and 2022, before joining the Patriots this season.

“I am extremely pleased to be able to add Bill O’Brien to our coaching staff,” Ohio State head coach Ryan Day stated Friday, per Eleven Warriors. “He offers a depth of expertise and a great deal of accomplishment from both the NFL and the collegiate levels. He is a talented and seasoned offensive coach who has led NFL and Power 5 institutions and produced some extremely elite players over his career. He’ll be a fantastic teacher and recruiter for us, and he will undoubtedly boost our team.”

We’ll see what modifications O’Brien makes to the Ohio State offense.
