Ross County have completed the transfer of Birmingham City star

Khela, the midfielder, will spend the balance of the season in Dingwall.

Brandon Khela, a teenager from Birmingham City, has joined Ross County on loan.

The 18-year-old Coventry-born midfielder progressed through the English Championship club’s development divisions before becoming the club’s first British South Asian youngster to sign a professional contract in 2021.

Khela has worked his way into the Blues’ first squad, making his senior debut in a League Cup win over Cheltenham Town in August.

He went on to make his league debut in the closing moments of a 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town in October, but those are his only two senior appearances to date.

Khela will now look to acquire first-team experience with the Staggies, and he will provide an extra midfield option after Adams released Kyle Turner, Ben Paton, and Scott High.

Khela is County’s second signing of the January transfer window, following the loan signing of Fulham goalkeeper George Wickens on Thursday.

The Staggies return from their winter break next Saturday, when they visit Partick Thistle in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
