Rob Gronkowski states his dislike for the ‘cocky’ Colts

When he participated on Julian Edelman’s “Games With Names” podcast earlier this month, Rob Gronkowski didn’t hold back when it came to his feelings toward the Indianapolis Colts. It didn’t take long for him to double down on the take.

The former New England Patriots teammates discussed “Deflategate,” which Gronkowski claimed occurred because the Colts needed a “BS answer” for why they were losing to us year after year.

During an interview on the “Up & Adams” show on Wednesday, the four-time Super Bowl champion lost no time in criticizing the “cocky” Colts.

“Let me tell you something: I despise the Colts. “I was just on Julian’s podcast, “Games with Names,” and we absolutely dismantled, ripped apart the Colts,” Gronkowski added. “They were putting up banners to celebrate winning a division.” They were usually a little cocky, always spoke trash when they played us, and we simply romped them week in and week out. Particularly during the playoffs. I dislike the Colts. I used to enjoy running up the score against them.

“We dominated them in the pass game and in the run game as well, and we were dominating them so bad that they came up with that Deflategate BS because they needed an excuse why we were absolutely terrorizing them,” he said.

“Deflategate” occurred when the Colts reported that the footballs used in the AFC Championship Game were under-inflated. This resulted in a year-long inquiry and the suspension of then-quarterback Tom Brady for four games for his role in the controversy.

“It wasn’t just that they were losing to us. “We were absolutely pounding that (expletive),” Gronkowski told Edelman on his podcast. “I dislike them. You can’t possibly be a bigger loser than that.

“Are you kidding me?,” he asked. “We ran the ball for 300 yards.”
Following Brady’s suspension, the Patriots completed a remarkable 28-3 comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI.
