Report: Green Bay Packers Announce Devastating Injury Before Game Against Carolina Panthers

The Green Bay Packers will try to get back on track this week against the Carolina Panthers.

With a record of 6-8, the Packers have a limited chance of making the playoffs. Winning out provides the club an excellent chance, but it is difficult to believe this team can win three consecutive (again).

However, that three-game winning streak may have just become a little more difficult. Particularly on the offensive end of the field.

The Green Bay Packers Could Be Without One Of Their Best Weapons When They Take On The Carolina Panthers

According to Zachary Jacobson of Packer Report:

Jayden Reed is now battling a toe injury. It’s his third different injury since Nov. 21, but he’s played in all four of the Packers’ games in that span while fighting through chest and ankle injuries. The kid’s tough.

Reed is quickly developing into one of the Packers’ hardest offensive players. The number of injuries he has played through (and done well) is nothing short of astounding.

Toe injuries, on the other hand, are a different story. While the two ailments may be completely different, it is worth mentioning that Davante Adams lost nearly a month in 2019 due to turf toe.

Who Will The Packers Turn To If Reed Is Unavailable On Sunday Against The Panthers?

Christian Watson, if he recovers from his hamstring injury, is clearly the best option. Another young wide receiver, on the other hand, is swiftly blossoming for this club. Wicks had the busiest day of his brief career against the Buccaneers, with Christian Watson (hamstring) sidelined for the second straight game. Wicks caught six of seven targets for 97 yards and connected with quarterback Jordan Love on three 20-yard or longer plays.

If Reed is unable to travel, I expect Wicks to play a larger part in the Packers’ offense. He has unquestionably gained Jordan Love’s trust. When it comes to injuries, the Packers’ wide receiving corps has had a difficult year.
