Relevant DK Metcalf Moment Gains Viral Following Seahawks’ Week 10 Victory

In Week 10, the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Washington Commanders 29–26 after a fierce battle.

But following the game, the teams came together to respect one another, as Seattle wide receiver DK Metcalf was seen on tape enjoying a heartfelt moment with Washington tight end Logan Thomas and giving him a kind gift.

DK Metcalf Gave Logan Thomas His Jersey for His Son

Logan Thomas approached DK Metcalf following the Seahawks’ Week 10 victory over the Commanders, letting the receiver know that his kid was a major fan of the Seahawks player. This conversation was captured on tape by NFL Films.

Hey, I realize this may not matter much, but my son is a huge admirer. He is fifteen. Erect like you, my friend. Go on doing what you do, man,” Thomas remarked to Metcalf.

Metcalf immediately presented Thomas’s son a present from the match he had just played against Thomas’s father.

“You may hand him this one. Give it to him, Metcalf said, removing his jersey from the game, kneeling on the ground to sign it, and giving it to Thomas.

After exchanging brief embraces and handshakes, Thomas left the war zone with an amazing gift for his son.

The endearing exchange between Metcalf and Thomas was interesting to witness and serves as a reminder of the unique community that the NFL provides for its players in a sport where everything players do is scrutinized and the most dramatic headlines are frequently generated by the worst events.

Fans are adoring this moment’s video because of this. The video garnered over 2 million views on Twitter/X in the first 12 hours following NFL Films’ posting of it.

DK Metcalf Had One of His Best Games of the Season in Week 10

Gaining victory over the Commanders was essential, especially after the Seahawks’ humiliating loss to the Baltimore Ravens and with a murderer’s row schedule looming in Weeks 12 through 15.

And Metcalf came through big time to help get that victory.

In Week 10, he accomplished this by recording one of his best performances of the year. Metcalf finished with 98 yards from 12 targets and 7 catches. During the game-winning drive, he also made two of these catches, including the crucial 27-yard grab that set up Jason Myers’ game-winning kick goal.

This season, the numbers signify his most amount of catches in a single game, as well as his second-highest targets (14 in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals) and yards (112 in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers) thus far in the league. According to PFF, he had the second-highest receiving grade of 2023 (73.1), only surpassed by the Panthers game (83.1).

Metcalf needs to continue at this rate as Seattle battles for a postseason berth and seeding down the road; if he does, the seasoned pass-catcher may have a successful season.

The wide receivers on the Seahawks aren’t receiving the same level of attention as they did the previous season since the passing game isn’t as exciting as it was in 2022. But Metcalf is quietly enjoying a season that is on par with or better than his 2022 campaign.

The Pro Bowl wide receiver caught 90 passes for 1,048 yards and six scores on 141 targets in the previous season.

Metcalf has only had 62 targets in eight games this season, resulting in 35 catches for 552 yards and two touchdowns. He will likely target 124 times, haul in 70 receptions for 1,104 yards, and score four scores. The four touchdowns would be a career low, while the targets and catches would be the fewest since his rookie campaign. If he does manage to get to that yardage threshold, though, it will just be less than his 2020 Pro Bowl season’s total.
