Ravens cautious in second 2023 meeting due to Cleveland Browns’ QB threat

The defense of the Baltimore Ravens is getting ready to take on Deshaun Watson in their second game of 2023 against the Cleveland Browns.

The Baltimore Ravens are favored by six points in their highly anticipated AFC North division matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Earlier this season, with Dorian Thompson-Robinson filling in at quarterback, Baltimore defeated the Browns 28-3.

Even though the Ravens dominated the Browns offense in the first game, they aren’t looking past Cleveland with Deshaun Watson starting at quarterback for their rematch. Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen, two linebackers for the Ravens, discussed what Watson brings to the field.

Patrick Queen stated, “It’s Deshaun Watson, without a doubt.” “There’s a reason they gave him so much money. Although he is an excellent player, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal stated, “that place is going to be rocking at the end of the day because he is coming into our stadium, along with our team, defense, and fans.

Roquan Smith described Watson as “a good veteran quarterback, been in the league for a while.” “I hold great regard for him. We’ll be ready for it since he’s a guy who can really go for it and can also use his legs. Have complete faith that Mike (Macdonald), the defensive coordinator, and the defensive staff will have us prepared for the game. So, looking forward to it,” via Easterling.

Watson hasn’t lived up to that contract thus far, disappointing the Browns. With three interceptions, Watson has completed 902 yards of passing for six touchdowns and an average of 6.6 yards per pass. In the meantime, Smith and Queen head the second-best defense in the NFL in terms of passing and total yards. They should have no trouble handling Watson if they continue as they have throughout the year.
