Raiders have ‘genuine interest’ in signing a 24-year-old ex first-round pick

Justin Fields, a Chicago Bears quarterback, is one of the more intriguing trade candidates this summer.

The former first-round choice has displayed moments of brilliance, but his inconsistency as a passer is why the Bears are likely to move on from him.

However, not every club has the advantage of having the first selection, so Fields might still be valuable to a lot of teams. The Las Vegas Raiders are a team worth watching. There has been conflicting information about whether or not the team is interested, but Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda is now suggesting that the Raiders may make a move.

“There’s another team that I’m told has genuine interest in acquiring Fields and will explore trading for him: the Las Vegas Raiders,” Pauline wrote in a February 21 piece.

Fields is unlikely to cost more than a second-round selection in a trade, which is a reasonable price to pay for a potential franchise quarterback. The Raiders have hired Luke Getsy as their offensive coordinator, who was previously sacked by the Bears for failing to maximize Fields’ potential. Reuniting them in Las Vegas makes little sense.

Justin Fields Wants to Stay With Chicago Bears

If the Bears did not have the first overall pick, they would most likely keep Justin Fields. They will find it impossible to pass up on Caleb Williams. It’s a difficult situation for Fields because he has stated again that he does not want to leave Chicago.

Yes, of course. On the February 21 episode of the “St. Brown Brothers” podcast, Fields expressed his desire to stay. “I can’t imagine myself playing in another area. But if it were up to me, I’d want to stay in Chicago. I adore the city. The city is lighted. There are wonderful supporters and people. It is a business. I have no control over anything; whatever occurs will happen. I guess the most important thing about all of this right now is that I simply want it to end. Just let me know if I’m being traded, if I’m staying, this and that.”

Fields simply hasn’t performed well enough to justify the Bears passing on a generational talent like Williams.

Justin Fields Tired of Trade Rumors

Justin Fields recently gained attention after it was reported that he had stopped following the Bears on Instagram. Sometimes this indicates that a player is dissatisfied with his team. However, Fields revealed why he took the decision.

“Why do people take social media so serious?” Fields stated. “I’m still messing with the Bears, this and that. I’m just trying to take a short break. I unfollowed both the Bears and the NFL. I am not only trying to include football on my timeline.

“This is not something I want to see on my timeline. I am about to go on vacation. I don’t want to see any football. And, guess what? [The social media rhetoric is] either keep Fields or we want Fields. Either draft Caleb [Williams]. I’m bored of listening to the discourse. I simply want this to be over.”
