‘Preparing to part ways’: Nottingham Forest Not Please With Player Who Wants To Return

Joe Worrall of Nottingham Forest joined Beşiktaş on loan in the winter market after losing his spot at the Premier League club in the first half of the season.

To put things in context, since mid-September, the centre-back has made only four appearances, two of which were in the FA Cup.

The Nottingham Forest-owned player’s status has improved marginally at the Turkish club, with 584 minutes in eight games thus far.

Beşiktaş has the option to make the 27-year-old’s stay permanent, but will not use it. That is according to Wednesday’s edition of Milliyet, and their report’s title reads: ‘Worrall says goodbye’

According to the report, the Istanbul club signed him on a free loan agreement and agreed to pay €600,000 in salary. This transfer has not gone well for them because the defender ‘could not fully satisfy expectations’.

After sacking Fernando Santos in April, Beşiktaş named Serdar Topraktepe as interim coach, and Worrall struggled to impress under both managers. They do not plan to keep him and are ‘preparing to part ways’ with the Nottingham Forest player.

Milliyet also adds Worrall is also considering quitting Beşiktaş owing to a lack of consistent game time. With neither party intending to extend their relationship beyond this season, he will’most likely return’ to Nottingham Forest, where he has a contract until 2026.
