Potential debuts as key man begins in Leicester City’s expected line-up against Bournemouth

Several players from the club’s development team were observed in training ahead of the trip to the south coast and may be part in the FA Cup fifth round.

Enzo Maresca could give more Leicester City debuts as his squad travels to Bournemouth for the FA Cup fifth round.

Maresca has stated that he could alter all 11 players on the south coast, and that he may have to call on members of the club’s development team. The Italian is not hesitant to make debuts, as he has done with Jakub Stolarczyk, Ben Nelson, Tawanda Maswanhise, Arjan Raikhy, and Brandon Cover.

Enzo Maresca: a traveller, a reader, prized by Guardiola – with history in Glasgow

Raikhy, forward Silko Thomas, three midfielders (Henry Cartwright, Oli Ewing, and Logan Briggs), and winger Wanya Marcal were among the development squad players observed in City practicing ahead of the trip to the Vitality Stadium. He is perhaps the most likely to get a start, given his senior experience and Kasey McAteer’s uncertainty.

Cartwright and Ewing may also fancy their chances if Maresca believes his midfielders need a break. Hamza Choudhury, Harry Winks, and Ricardo Pereira all began at Leeds, and there aren’t enough senior possibilities to replace them all, so a few may have to stay.

Aside from that, the team will most likely be fairly similar to the one that faced Millwall and Birmingham in the previous two rounds. In those games, Jakub Stolarczyk started in goal, with Ben Nelson, Conor Coady, and Callum Doyle in front of him, and all four are expected to play against the Cherries.

Dennis Praet, who missed the game against Leeds, could return to the starting lineup, alongside Yunus Akgun. Marc Albrighton is expected to play on the right wing, with Tom Cannon likely to defeat Kelechi Iheanacho for the single striker position.
