Possible reason he was traded: Former Ohio State football star is already causing problems for his new team

Former Ohio State football player Marvin Harrison Jr. was selected fourth overall in the NFL Draft.

Only two weeks after being drafted, he’s already causing problems for his new squad.

Former Ohio State football player Marvin Harrison Jr. was an outstanding college player. He was the top receiver in college football last season. To be honest, I felt he was also the top receiver in college football in 2022. He was a formidable weapon for the Buckeyes.

The Arizona Cardinals selected Harrison Jr. with the fourth overall choice in the NFL Draft just two weeks ago. He was the first non-quarterback selected in the draft. He certainly deserved it considering what he accomplished at Ohio State. His rookie season is already off to a difficult start, however.

It’s been two weeks since his draft. However, supporters are still unable to purchase his jersey. He will not be in the most recent Madden edition. Why? A recent ESPN piece detailed it. Harrison Jr. has yet to complete the paperwork allowing the NFPA and Fanatics to use his likeness.

The main question is why. Harrison Jr. appears to be attempting to wrangle additional money from Fanatics. Because he signed a $1 million NIL contract with Fanatics while at Ohio State, he believes he is entitled to more than the $30,000 starting salary that entering players receive.

This is an unnecessary distraction for Harrison Jr. as he enters his freshman season. He belongs to a wealthy family. His father was a Hall of Fame receiver with the Indianapolis Colts. Harrison Jr. is not short on cash, and he will make a lot of money if he does well in the league.

Why is he focusing on this rather than striving to be the best pro he can be early in his career? It seems like a needless diversion for the Arizona media to focus on. It is not apparent when this will be handled. For everyone’s sake, I hope it happens soon.
