Olivia Szperkowska, a Polish goalkeeper, has joined Women’s Championship club Birmingham City FC on a season-long loan agreement.

Szperkowska began playing football at age nine with her hometown team, UKS Orzeł Wałcz. In 2017, she signed for UKS SMS Łódź and made her professional debut in April 2018. She went on to win two trophies: the Polish first-division title in 2022 and the Polish Cup in 2023. The 20-year-old goalkeeper earned her UEFA Women’s Champions League debut with Łódź before joining KKS Czarni Sosnowiec in the summer of 2023.

Szperkowska joined Paris Saint-Germain in the winter transfer window of 2023-2024 and appeared in two league games last season.

At the international level, the Paris keeper has represented all of her country’s youth teams, as well as being called up to Poland’s senior women’s squad alongside club teammate Katarzyna Kiedrzynek, however she has yet to play competitively at this level.

The club wishes Oliwia all the best this season with Birmingham City.
