Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Part of WILD trade offer by local sports radio station

Find out who wants to trade Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown.

Since the end of the 2023 season, there has been a lot of controversy about Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. However, with the NFL Draft less than a week away, some Eagles supporters have shifted their focus.

Having stated that, a local sports radio station advocated a wild swap with Brown. What was it? How crazy is this? Find out below.

Local Sports Radio Station Suggests Trading Brown for #3 Pick

The 94WIP Midday Show conducted a really intriguing Twitter poll for its listeners. Keep in mind that this is a Philadelphia radio station, hence the majority of listeners are Eagles supporters.

They posted a question and two options for voters to choose from in the poll. The question was as follows:

“Would you trade AJ Brown to the Patriots for the 3rd overall pick in the draft?”

Then they let followers vote “yes” or “no.” At the time of writing, this poll has received over 6,500 votes. However, the majority of fans oppose such a trade. Almost 65% of respondents said “no” in the poll.

How Crazy Is This Trade?

So, what is the rationale behind proposing a wild exchange like this? The idea would likely be to draft a new wide receiver. Brown is expected to earn over $47 million over the next three years. However, the Eagles have an out before the 2025 season and the contract’s most expensive years.

Another financial point to consider is the contract that the Eagles recently granted to WR DeVonta Smith. Philadelphia apparently just gave him another $75 million.

Admittedly, there is one viable option for doing so. If the Eagles moved up to the third overall pick, they would most likely draft Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr.

Philadelphia Eagles Drama

The Eagles experienced a lot of drama at the close of the 2023 season. There was a reported quarrel between quarterback Jalen Hurts and former offensive coordinator Brian Johnson. Johnson eventually lost his position, and Kellen Moore replaced him.

People used to believe that Hurts and Brown had a fight. However, Brown made it plain that these were just rumors. However, it is worth noting that the Eagles suffered a major collapse at the close of last season, going 1-5 in their final six games. As a result, Philadelphia will undoubtedly draw attention as the 2024 NFL season begins.
