The Indianapolis Colts are among the clubs that left some meat on the bone from last season.

After losing brilliant rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson to a shoulder injury after only four games, Indianapolis finished 9-8 but missed the playoffs after losing the season’s last home game to the Houston Texans.

With Richardson returning at quarterback in 2024, this club could improve even further.

The former Florida Gator was recently named one of Pro Football Focus’ top breakthrough potential for the position in 2024.

In his four games in 2023, the 22-year-old demonstrated considerable talent.

He scored seven touchdowns and threw only one interception.

Additionally, he demonstrated his mobility by sprinting for 136 yards in four games.

Looking ahead to this season, two things must happen for Richardson to reclaim some of his magic.

First, the former first-round pick must remain healthy, which means absorbing fewer hits.

In order to succeed, he must also use the critical weapons available to him.

Michael Pittman, a 1,000-yard wide receiver, and standout running back Jonathan Taylor are his most productive offensive players

If head coach Shane Steichen led the Colts to a 9-8 record last season with Gardner Minshew as their backup quarterback, imagine what he can achieve with a talented player like Richardson at the helm.

If Richardson can stay healthy, he has the potential to make a significant impact.
