The Rams head coach oversaw a fine 3-0 win over the Robins which left Pride Park rocking.

Derby County’s spectacular demolition of Bristol City, which saw the Rams win 3-0 at Pride Park, was the best performance of his tenure, according to Paul Warne.

Kenzo Goudmijn, Kayden Jackson, and David Ozoh scored the winning goals, and Jerry Yates and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing both struck the post.

Derby were electrifying to watch as they won their second home game in a row, continuing their strong start to life in the Championship.

When asked to sum up his feelings after the game, Warne told Derbyshire Live, “I’m really proud; it was the best Derby performance I’ve seen since I’ve been here.” I understand that scorelines may be deceiving at times, but we generated a lot of nice opportunities and it seemed more like my team than ever.

“We had pace up top, a strong work ethic throughout the team, and when called upon, the goalkeeper made a save or came for a cross, and someone blocked it.” The players were superb today, limiting a very good Bristol City squad to only a few chances, which we took advantage of.

“I was very delighted, and even if they had scored two goals in the last two minutes and we hadn’t taken the third, and we hadn’t won the game, I would have been overjoyed with our performance.

“I’m saying it tongue in cheek but if I never manage here again that’s the best way to do it because that it how I want my teams to play. There was so much I loved today.”
