The Las Vegas Raiders gained headlines on Thursday after a video surfaced of a Kermit the Frog puppet dressed as Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

A fan brought the doll to the Raiders’ training camp, and rookie Trey Taylor was seen holding it, prompting a flurry of social media activity.

The now-deleted video rapidly went viral, prompting a strong response from Mahomes’ trainer, Bobby Stroupe. Stroupe’s three-word response, “We will remember,” implies that the Chiefs may be using the incident as motivation as they gear up for the new season.

Despite the hype, it appears that the doll was not passed around by players, but rather recorded by spectators. The Raiders’ humorous poke at Mahomes and the Chiefs has received a lot of attention, especially given the Chiefs’ overwhelming record versus Las Vegas. Mahomes has a 10-2 career record against the Raiders, and Kansas City has won the AFC West for eight straight seasons.

Looking ahead, the Chiefs hope to win their third Super Bowl in a row, becoming the first NFL team to do so. Kansas City’s offseason changes have strengthened their roster, with deep threat Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and first-round draft pick Xavier Worthy anticipated to boost their already formidable offense.

Mahomes will look to use this as fuel for his season

With Mahomes coming off a season in which he threw for 4,183 yards, 27 touchdowns, and a 67.2% completion rate, the Chiefs are poised for another successful season. The Raiders’ decision to taunt such a formidable opponent may add gasoline to the Chiefs’ fire as they strive for another memorable season.

While the Raiders are confident in their excellent roster, worries about their quarterback situation remain, which may have an impact on their season hopes. The upcoming season promises to be interesting as both sides prepare for their matchups.
