Packers Declare Roster Change Before Cowboys Game

The Green Bay Packers could be missing one of their finest defensive players in the season’s biggest game.

CB Jaire Alexander is labeled as questionable for their postseason game against the Dallas Cowboys on the road, and their recent roster move isn’t exactly promising.

Packers beat writer Rob Demovsky reports that the team has recently signed and promoted CB David Long Jr., who was on the practice squad in December.

To make room for him on the active roster, they had to dismiss veteran running back Kenyan Drake.

Needless to say, even if Alexander is cleared to play, he may not be on the field for every snap or may be far from 100%, and the team needs an insurance policy in case he has to leave the game.

This would be bad news any day of the week, but it gets even worse when you realize he was going to be saddled with the nearly impossible chore of keeping CeeDee Lamb in check.

Lamb has been one of the league’s finest players, and most pundits believe his relationship with Dak Prescott is the most dangerous in the playoffs right now.

Alexander is one of the few players in the league that can really compete with him or even stop him.

It’ll be interesting to watch how Matt LaFleur and DC Joe Barry manage to keep him in control if their star cornerback isn’t in the way.
