Ozuna hits two home runs and Sale dominates, guiding the Atlanta Braves to a 5-0 win over the Boston Red Sox

Marcell Ozuna extended his spectacular performance by hitting two more home runs, while Chris Sale faced his former team and tossed six innings.

On Wednesday night, the Atlanta Braves defeated the Boston Red Sox 5-0, completing a two-game sweep.

Ozuna’s first home run was a three-run shot in the first inning, followed by a single shot in the third against Nick Pivetta, who struggled in his first start since coming from the injured list.

Ozuna, nicknamed “Big Bear,” passed Shohei Ohtani for the MLB lead in home runs with his 11th and 12th of the season. Additionally, he leads the league with 38 RBIs.

Even when Truist Park fans yelled “MVP! MVP!” during his final at-bat, Ozuna remained composed and humble.

Reflecting on his experience, Ozuna emphasized the significance of being grounded, regardless of achievement. This mindset shift is noteworthy, especially given his problems just a year ago, when his future with the Braves appeared questionable.

Sale, who previously played for the Red Sox from 2018 to 2023, had an injury-plagued career despite an initial World Series victory. The pitcher’s recent move to Atlanta provided him with a fresh start.
