Oregon scores commitment from 5-star portal wide receiver

Evan Stewart, a 5-star transfer portal receiver, has committed to Oregon.

The departure of junior receiver Troy Franklin from the Oregon Ducks for the NFL marks a significant departure from the Ducks’ historic 2023 season. In an effort to match Franklin’s production, the Ducks have signed the finest transfer portal wide receiver prospect this offseason.

Texas A&M sophomore wide receiver Evan Stewart visited campus this past weekend for an official visit and has declared his commitment to the Ducks. The No. 2 overall transfer portal prospect and No. 1 wide receiver transfer portal prospect will be eligible for two years plus a redshirt year at Oregon. Stewart is one of only two 5-star talents who have signed a transfer request.

The 6-foot-175-pound incoming junior has 91 career catches for 1,163 yards and six touchdowns. Stewart caught 38 catches for 514 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore this season. Evans is likely to sign with Oregon before the start of spring football.

The Ducks have had an incredible offseason collection of talent with the arrival of Evan Stewart. Jeremiah McClellan, Ryan Pellum, and Dillon Greshman, all 4-star high school receiver prospects, joined the Ducks, as did 3-star receiver Jack Ressler. In addition, the Ducks were able to keep starting receivers Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden for the upcoming season.

Stewart is Oregon’s eighth offseason transfer portal addition. He joins UTSA starter Kam Alexander, Kansas State starter Kobe Savage, Oklahoma starter Dillon Gabriel, Indiana starter Matthew Beford, Oregon State kicker Atticus Sappington, UCLA QB Dante Moore, and D2 All-American running back Jay Harris.
