Oregon makes the top five for 5-star cornerback ahead of his commitment

Dorian Brew, a 2025 Conroe (Tex.) cornerback, is one of the top defensive backs in the country.

He disclosed his top five institutions on Wednesday, narrowing down his list of 24 reported scholarship offers, and the Oregon Ducks made the cut.

The top five colleges for the 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback are Michigan, Penn State, Texas, and Ohio State. Brew is a five-star (0.9876 according to the 247Sports Composite) recruit who is ranked No. 19 nationally, No. 4 cornerback, and No. 6 recruit in Texas on the same system.

The highly regarded cornerback recruit has also set a January 24 commitment date, indicating that he is ready to make his college pick. According to the 247Sports class rankings, Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class has four verbal commitments, ranking it 11th in the USA.

The group is led by Tampa Bay (Fla.) Tech wide receiver Dallas Wilson, who committed to the Ducks on January 17, nearly a year ago. Under Demetrice Martin, the Ducks signed three outstanding cornerbacks in the 2024 recruiting class: Dakoda Fields (CA), Ify Obidegwu (MD), and junior college star Sione Laulea III (CA).

Oregon also received a pledge from UTSA transfer cornerback Kameryn Alexander earlier this week, bolstering its secondary in preparation for the Big Ten’s more top offensive skill ability.

Brew would be the Ducks’ first defensive back commitment in 2025 if he chooses Oregon, but Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes appear to have the momentum heading into his choice. However, two weeks is a significant length of time, as more visits may occur between now and his announcement.
