Omari Hutchinson’s permanent move to Ipswich will give Arsenal an advantage

Arsenal will benefit from a sell-on option in Omari Hutchinson’s contract if the academy graduate joins Ipswich Town this summer.

Former Arsenal winger Omari Hutchinson is expected to return to parent club Chelsea this summer following a loan spell at Ipswich Town, but his loan club wants him back permanently.

Football.London report that Ipswich are interested in a permanent deal for Hutchinson, and they’re readying a £20m bid for the player.

Ipswich aren’t the only team vying for Football.London also reports that VfB Stuttgart, Ajax, and Feyenoord are keeping an eye on Hutchinson’s position.

However, Ipswich appear to have the advantage right now, given the player spent the 2023/24 season with the club.

If Hutchinson does make a permanent move, it will be wonderful news for Arsenal.

When the Gunners sold Hutchinson to Chelsea in 2022, The Athletic stated that they only received a minimal amount.

However, the agreement includes a sell-on clause, so Arsenal will receive a portion of whatever Chelsea earns from Hutchinson’s transfer. The exact value of the clause remains unknown.

Hutchinson has made two Chelsea appearances since his 2022 transfer, although he has not been included in the club’s team since his last appearance in January 2023.

This season, he appeared 50 times for Ipswich Town in the Championship, scoring 11 goals and contributing six assists.

With Ipswich now in the Premier League, the club is aiming to make a few significant transfers to avoid relegation.
