Ohio State’s offensive coordinator, compliments a new five-star commit

The wait for five-star receiver Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State took longer than the Buckeyes had hoped, but the No. 1 overall prospect officially entered the program on Wednesday night.

And, on Thursday, offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline made his first public comments about the new receiver on social media.

“Yes the plays are outstanding but it’s the mental make up this young man has that will launch him towards his goals,” he wrote on his Facebook page. “Let’s Go Be Great!”

When Smith’s commitment became official, coach Ryan Day playfully (or perhaps not so jokingly) began to fall during his Wednesday press conference. However, because the letter of intent did not arrive, Day was unable to remark on Smith joining the team.

With Smith and fellow five-star Mylan Graham in the mix, the future of Ohio State’s receiver room is once again remarkably bright.
