Ohio State Star Announces For 2024 NFL Draft

Marvin Harrison Jr., the Ohio State Buckeyes’ standout wide receiver, has officially declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Marvin Harrison Jr. will officially move on to the next chapter of his career after three seasons in Columbus and 38 games for the Ohio State Buckeyes, declaring for the NFL Draft on Thursday afternoon.

Harrison Jr. will now follow in the footsteps of his father, Marvin Harrison Sr. The elder Harrison was a first-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 1996 NFL Draft, picked No. 19 overall, and had a stellar 13-year NFL career.

It was a widely anticipated choice that surprised no one, with Harrison regarded as a top-5 (or even top-2) pick in the NFL this spring.

Said Harrison in his announcement on Instagram:

First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the abilities and great opportunity to play the game that I love at The Ohio State University. All Glory and praise to him.

I want to give thanks to everyone at The Ohio State University within and outside of the football program. Thank you to Gene Smith, my teammates, Coaches, Strength Staff, Trainers, Nutritionist, CJ Barnett, Equipment Services, Media Team, SASSO, and everyone working in the WHAC for helping me become the best person I can be on and off the field. The success that I have had individually could not have been accomplished without every single one of you and I appreciate you all for the help and support.

To my family and loved ones, thank and appreciate all the support and love that has been given to me throughout my life and the sacrifices made to get me to where l am today.

To Zone 6, there is not a better group of coaches and players that I would have wanted to spend my college career with. From the competition on the field, the long nights catching passes and watching film, to the bonding off the field, I will always appreciate the moments we had. Continue the Legacy.

To Buckeye Nation, the love I received from you all in the Shoe and on the road will be moments I cherish forever, and I hope I left lasting memories for you on the field. I appreciate the support these past three years. Buckeye for life.

With that said, I have decided to declare for the NFL draft. Truly a dream come true.

Go Bucks.

He now finishes his Buckeyes career with 155 catches for 2,613 yards and 31 touchdowns, and as probably the best receiver to ever step foot on the field for the Buckeyes, setting a Buckeyes record this season with 15 career 100-yard receiving games.

Harrison Jr. collected 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns in one of the best single seasons in school history.

As a result, Harrison was selected a unanimous All-American and a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. He was the only wide receiver nominated, as well as the only non-quarterback position player.

Harrison is as sure as it gets to be a top-10 pick in Ohio State history, and if he is, he will become the eighth Buckeyes wideout to be picked in the first three rounds in the previous ten seasons.

And he could be the greatest of the bunch.
