Ohio State football’s X account is delighted to play in the ‘desert’ that is Arlington, Texas

“Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain’t come here to play SCHOOL,” former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones famously asked.

That kind of commitment and approach looks to be carried over by the Ohio State football team as they prepare for Friday’s Cotton Bowl Classic.

The Ohio State Buckeyes landed in Arlington, Texas on Saturday ahead of their top-ten matchup against the Missouri Tigers of the SEC, and their X account tweeted a compilation of photographs of players making their way to the introductory press conference. The players can be seen in those photographs wearing sweatpants and hoodies, which is a bit odd given that, according to the team’s X account, they were currently in the middle of a “desert.”

To be fair to the people of Columbus, Ohio, the Chihuahuan Desert does cover a large area of West Texas, but this isn’t it. Arlington is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, which has a humid subtropical climate.

But that is just semantics. The crucial thing to remember here is that this gave the college football world a perfect opportunity to mock Ohio State.
