Officials from VAR ‘argue with one another’ during the most recent Premier League farce

The referees at Stockley Park clashed as VAR nearly made another mistake while trying to decide whether or not Burnley should have been given a goal.

When Bournemouth defeated Burnley, the VAR officials were ‘arguing with each other’ on whether Jay Rodriguez was onside or not.

The attacker felt he had leveled the match, but replays appeared to show he was offside. The Clarets were behind the Cherries. Before VAR David Coote interfered and allegedly got into a fight with his colleague at Stockley Park, the goal was originally awarded.

He objected to the lines since they didn’t seem to be drawn straight and they were measuring Rodriguez’s position incorrectly. Unaware of the proceedings in the VAR room, the fans chanted “this is embarrassing” as the inspection ran longer than five minutes.

Using video of the match and players using VAR, Clinton Morrison, who was covering the match for Soccer Saturday, provided a running commentary on the situation.

On Sky Sports, he stated, “Onside, onside.” I witnessed the green light turning on. Hold on, it appears that they are fighting. They appear to be rowing in the VAR [room]. They said it was onside when the green light came on, but now they’ve gone back and are still unsure.

“David Coote’s still in there now, pointing at the screen and saying, can you draw the line straight,” the former Premier League striker continued. They’re also not doing it. It is excessively lengthy.

Lloyd Kelly of Bournemouth appeared to be playing the Burnley man onside, but the decision was deemed “embarrassing” due to the relatively routine nature of it and the time it took to make. This season, VAR has found themselves in hot trouble, especially after their Tottenham – Liverpool gaffe.

Morrison continued, saying, “I don’t care if it takes ten minutes as long as it’s the right decision. I would prefer that they take their time and make the appropriate judgment, as they hurried one at Tottenham-Liverpool earlier in the season, which ended in a total disaster.

Joking around while covering the game for the BBC, Chris Sutton said, “Maybe they’ve all popped out for a cup of tea in the VAR hub? It’s absurd that it took so long. The semi-automated system should be implemented as soon as possible. Who knows if they’ve made the correct choice.
