It’s official: Tennessee is restocking for another national championship run.

Tony Vitello began his move through the transfer window on Tuesday night, signing former Ole Miss players Andrew Fischer and Liam Doyle.

The duo communicated their decisions through X.

Both made official trips to Knoxville on Monday.

Fischer, a 6-1 third baseman, is a rising junior who has two seasons of eligibility left. However, he will be MLB Draft eligible next summer, with plenty of suitors following a strong sophomore season. Fischer hit.285 with 20 home runs and 57 RBIs on the year.

He officially entered the portal on July 2nd and is currently fast arriving in Knoxville.

Tennessee also acquired LHP Liam Doyle. In his one season at Ole Miss, the 6-2, 220-pound pitcher had a 5.73 ERA and made 16 appearances. Doyle made nine starts with the Rebels and struck out 84 batters in 55 innings pitched.

Doyle spent one season with Coastal Carolina before joining Ole Miss last season. Doyle went 3-1 as a freshman at Coastal Carolina, with an ERA of 4.15. He’ll start his Tennessee career with two seasons of eligibility remaining and is also draft eligible next summer.

Doyle pitched six innings against Tennessee on March 23rd, allowing three earned runs while striking out eleven. Now in Knoxville, he’ll assist replace departing left-handers Zander Seachrist, Chris Stamos, and Kirby Connell.

Fischer and Doyle join infielder Gavin Kilen, right-handed pitcher Tanner Franklin, and first baseman Eric Rataczak in Tennessee’s loaded transfer portal class.
