With eight points on the board, Nottingham Forest is on track for a successful 2024/25 season.

Last weekend, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team delivered the season’s biggest upset by defeating Liverpool on the road at Anfield.

The Reds will be thrilled to be in the top half of the table heading into the weekend, with twice as many points as Tottenham Hotspur.

However, this has not been down to good fortune, since Forest had a successful summer both on and off the pitch.

The strong start to the season has people inside Forest believing Nuno is the man capable of leading the club ahead.

And Nuno appears to be impressed with what he has seen at Forest away from the football pitch in recent months.

What Nuno Espirito Santo has just said about Evangelos Marinakis

Even before the Merseyside triumph, there was much to be optimistic about at Forest this season.

Kris Boyd, a Sky Sports pundit, claimed he was impressed with Forest’s offensive style during the season’s opening game.

The action on the pitch is currently matching that off it, with the Forest owner hoping to raise the club’s profile after their return to the Premier League a few years ago.

Nuno discussed the club’s off-field aspirations during Friday’s news conference ahead of Sunday’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

“It drives everyone. He is the most powerful figure in the club, thus his ambition is what drives us. “He wants this club to grow and be stable,” Nuno told BBC Sport.

“If if [the City Ground] has 50,000, that’s great. So long as it’s here. That’s what motivates us. This is communicated from the owner to everyone on the training grounds. Everyone must commit and understand that they are part of something that wants to grow. “We need everyone on board.”

Nottingham Forest aiming to return to the top

Marinakis is trying to boost capacity at the City Ground, which is one of the off-field initiatives.

Evangelos Marinakis is demonstrating his true support for Forest as he looks to return the team to the top of the standings.

And it’s evident that’s rubbing off on the pitch, given the current outcomes.

However, it should be noted that it is still early in the season, and as a result, the attitude at Forest might soon alter.

For the time being, however, it appears that everyone in the club is on the same page.
