Nottingham Forest to part ways with 24-year-old playmaker as price tag to be set

Nottingham Forest to bid £40 million for Morgan Gibbs-White ahead of the summer transfer season, according to Football Insider sources.

On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior journalist Pete O’Rourke reported that Forest will consider £40 million a “reasonable” price for the 24-year-old.

Forest is on the verge of exceeding their permissible losses under Profit and Sustainability Rules, and they plan to collect funds through sales this summer to avoid a future breach.

They were docked four points in 2023-24 for violating financial restrictions by £34.5 million in their 2022-23 accounts.

Nottingham Forest set £40m price tag for Morgan Gibbs-White

The English midfielder was a highlight for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team this season, scoring six goals and assisting ten times across all competitions.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke said: “I think for Morgan Gibbs-White, Forest will be looking at £40million-plus.

They have both had good seasons and enhanced their reputations – that’s what they’ve done at Nottingham Forest.

So, I think in the going market you’re looking at £40million-plus as a reasonable fee for Gibbs-White.
