Nottingham Forest to agree £4 million bid for out of favor star

Nottingham Forest will accept a £4 million proposal for Joe Worrall this summer because it will increase their profit margin, according to Football Insider.

On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior writer Pete O’Rourke stated that Sheffield United and other Championship clubs have expressed interest in signing the 27-year-old.

Forest are on the verge of exceeding their permissible PSR losses entering the summer transfer window, and they are anticipated to offload a handful of players to balance their books.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side avoided relegation, but they will need to raise finances this summer to invest in the squad.

Worrall, who spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Besiktas, could be on his way out of City Ground.

Nottingham Forest to receive PSR profit from Worrall sale

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke said: “With Joe Worrall now back I think Forest will be open to offers for him – there will be a lot of clubs looking at him as a cheap option.

Clubs will be able to sign him for around £4million but Worrall has two years remaining on his deal so it will have to be on his terms too.

It might not be a huge transfer fee, but a sale will be pure profit on the books because he’s a homegrown player.

There is a bit of interest from Sheffield United and other Championship clubs in him.

Forest will be looking to sell players who do give them that potential of bringing profit in, which would help towards them making signings of their own.
