Nottingham Forest targetting £8,000-per-week “revelation” for Nuno
Nottingham Forest face a battle for the young star.
Nottingham Forest is interested in a young talent who has also sparked interest from Manchester United and Fulham.
Nottingham Forest’s summer transfer plans
A four-point deduction earlier this year put Nottingham Forest in a difficult position in their effort to remain in the Premier League for another season. Despite not being at their best in the final month of the season, Forest secured their position in the top tier ahead of Luton Town on the last day.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s focus will now go to the 2024 summer transfer window and avoiding a recurrence of last season’s last-ditch survival effort. In a blow to Forest, it has been reported that standout player Morgan Gibbs-Whites is in talks with Tottenham about a summer move to the club.
However, it is not all bad news for the Reds, as a number of players have been linked with a move to the City Ground. According to recent sources, Forest made a 20 million euro (£17 million) approach for Las Palmas shot-stopper Alvaro Valles in January, but the Spanish club rejected the offer.
In his place, Forest signed Matz Sels, although there are still rumors that they may return for the Spaniard this summer, and they are still listed as the “main interested party” in his signing.
Meanwhile, Forest has been named as one of three Premier League clubs attempting to recruit excellent Toulouse defender Logan Costa, and it appears they are determined to improve defensive stability.
Forest eyeing £8,000-p/w “revelation” for Nuno
An update on another of Nottingham Forest’s summer transfer targets has been released. The player in question is Bradley Locko of Stade Brestois. According to French outlet Jeunes Footeux [via Sport Witness], Manchester United expressed interest in the left-back over the weekend, but Locko has also been linked with Fulham and Nottingham Forest for some time.
All three clubs, particularly United, could afford the full back’s £8,000-per-week salary, but according to Jeunes Footeux, the Frenchman isn’t Manchester United’s top priority, which may please Fulham and Forest, with the Old Trafford club preferring a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Ait-Nouri.
In terms of Locko’s transfer fee, Brest signed the fullback on loan from Stade de Reims in January 2023 before making him permanent for €500,000. However, the source adds that any club interested in the youth will need to pay at least €20 million for Brest to authorize his sale in the forthcoming window, implying that Brest would receive 40 times what they paid for the 22-year-old just a year after signing him permanently.
The left-back has registered three assists from 35 games for the Ligue 1 side and has been described as “a revelation” in France’s top flight this season.
