George Syrianos, Nottingham Forest’s recruitment guru, has signed several outstanding players since his arrival at the City Ground.
Despite adding decent reinforcements like Taiwo Awoniyi and Moussa Niakhate, Forest released Syrianos, and it came as no surprise when they requested him to return last year.
Forest’s operations are overseen by German recruitment, and the club has done well in the market this summer.
Eric da Silva Moreira is a definite Syrianos addition, having previously won the under-17 World Cup with Germany.
Nikola Milenkovic has also signed, and it is believed that he was another addition desired by Syrianos.
Jota Silva was the most recent addition to the roster, and it appears that Syrianos has another signing in mind.
Nottingham Forest rival Leeds United for Bruno Ogbus
The 18-year-old is a center defender who now plays for Bundesliga side Freiburg.
According to Sky Sports Germany writer Dennis Bayer, Forest and Leeds will duel for Ogbus this month.
AC Milan has already had a ridiculously cheap proposal rejected, with Freiburg eager to keep him at the club.
Ogbus signed with the Bundesliga club in 2022, arriving from Zurich, Switzerland.
He started with the second string in Germany and worked his way up to first-team football.
During his tenure at Freiburg, he played nine games for the second string in Germany’s third tier, as well as the under-19s.
He hasn’t played senior football yet, so Forest may not rush to complete the transaction.
Leeds are also interested, and it will be another season without Premier League football for the Whites, who were eliminated in the Championship Play-Off Final.
Ogbus would be a signing for the future at Forest
The talented adolescent plays as a centre-back, and if Forest sign him, he may first join the B-Team.
With so many central defenders at the club, Ogbus may struggle to break into the lineup in the short term.
At 18, he would have plenty of time on his side, and he might develop into a valuable player for Forest in the future.
Perhaps, like Moreira, Ogbus might come in and function as a squad player in the short term, earning minutes in cup tournaments.
Ogbus appears to be the type of player that could develop into a top player in the future.
He’s six feet tall, which should make him good in the air, and Freiburg’s desire to keep him shows he’s a genuinely gifted player coming up the ranks.
