Turkish giants Fenerbahce have reportedly increased their interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

Fenerbahce, a Turkish club, has reportedly increased its chase of Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

According to Turkish source Aspor, Jose Mourinho’s team has made the midfielder a priority transfer target following his struggles at Forest last season.

It is said that the Yellow Canaries have bid €20 million for the midfielder’s services, but it is uncertain whether the Premier League club will accept the price as the player joined from PSV Eindhoven for £30 million last summer.

Steve Cooper gave the youngster the most of his minutes last season before he went to the AFCON, where he represented Ivory Coast. According to Nuno Espirito Santo, he returned before suffering a knee injury and a ‘illness’. Speaking about Sangare in December, he remarked, “He [Sangare] is not in his best moment yet.” He was extremely ill, had lost weight, and it was in his groin. But he is certainly an option for us.”

Since the turn of the year, he has failed to get a first-team role, with the Portuguese manager preferring Danilo or Nicolas Dominguez in the holding midfield position. With the acquisition of Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United earlier in the window, Sangare appears to have dropped lower down the pecking order.
