Elliot Anderson, Nottingham Forest’s summer signing, took a heavy hit in a recent friendly against Millwall.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team won the game against the Championship outfit, but they surely left their imprint.
Forest have won two of their three opening friendlies, marking a remarkable start to the summer for the Reds.
Perhaps the only negative aspect of Forest’s preseason has been Anderson’s injury versus the Lions.
Forest’s final game in Spain comes on Friday night against La Liga 2 side Elche, and an injury update has emerged before of that encounter.
Elliot Anderson injury latest
Anderson was pulled off just before halftime in Spain on Tuesday after being tackled by Millwall midfielder George Saville.
The £35 million summer transfer was unable to limp off the pitch on his own, so two Forest physios assisted him to the sideline.
One Millwall journalist questioned Saville’s tackle, claiming the 28-year-old may have gone too far physically given the game was merely a friendly.
‘Did a lot of clearing up in front of defence where he could, though some tackles may have been too physical for a pre-season performance,’ said journalist Toby Bryant for the London World.
The club has not published any official comment on Anderson, but The Athletic’s Daniel Taylor has supplied insight on X.
According to reports, Forest officials are hopeful that the injury is minor, but he will undergo scans to confirm this.

Anderson is unlikely to be in the team for the encounter on Friday night, as Forest won’t be back in action until next Friday at City Ground.

Not that Forest fans would desire injury on any of their players, but it was unfortunate to see Anderson on the receiving end of the tackle.
In his limited playing time under Nuno, the 21-year-old has made a promising start to his career at Forest.
“Positive from the start. He created an early opportunity for himself with a terrific run into the box. “I latched on to Sangare’s pass and worked the goalkeeper,” stated journalist Sarah Clapson following the Sunderland tie.
Nuno’s first three games have featured different XIs on either side of the half, limiting Anderson to a maximum of 45 minutes.
Forest fans will now be hoping that Taylor’s early suspicions are true and Anderson recovers quickly before the new season begins.
