Nottingham Forest desires international defender who wins more headers than Murillo

Nottingham Forest are currently looking for a new central defender who has won more headers than Murillo this season.

This summer, the Reds will look to add several new players.

Regardless of the division Forest ends up in next season, it appears that they will have another hectic summer.

The centre of defence is one area that may benefit from reinforcement, with a few present choices being questioned.

Now, it appears that one central defender is being linked with a move to Forest, although they are not the only club interested in taking a risk on him.

Nottingham Forest rival two clubs for Logan Costa

Well, the links are beginning to emerge, and this one depicts forest land as a relatively unknown entity.

According to L’Equipe, the Reds hope to sign Toulouse center defender Logan Costa this summer.

However, Fulham and Villarreal are believed to be interested in signing him as well.

According to the report, a third Premier League club, West Ham or Brighton, may also be interested.

Toulouse may let Costa leave this summer, despite the fact that he is under contract in France until the summer of 2026.

If the club does allow him to depart, it is alleged that they hope to collect a club record transfer fee of more than £18 million.

Who is Logan Costa?

The 23-year-old Cape Verde international has been at Toulouse since 2021, when he signed from Stade Reims.

He is a center defender who has also played on loan for Le Mans and has shown to be an extremely valuable member of the Toulouse squad.

He has made 36 appearances in the 2023/24 season, and it is fair to say that his performances have piqued the interest of fans.

When compared to other Forest players, Costa has played one fewer game than Murillo, yet he outperforms the Brazilian in terms of heading.

Costa has won 63 aerial duels this season, whereas Murillo has only won 32 in 30 outings, according to Squawka.

The player played youth football for France at the international level before earning five Cape Verde caps.

Forest must sign centre-back this summer

Given the present state of the campaign, it’s safe to assume that this will be a priority.

Keeping clean sheets has proved difficult, and more defensive reinforcements are required.

Furthermore, some back-up players will most certainly go, with Felipe announcing his retirement.

Willy Boly is yet to receive an offer for next season, but Murillo has a large number of fans.
