Nottingham Forest Considering A Swoop Deal For Centre-Back

According to journalist Alan Nixon, recently released Sheffield United defender John Egan is being considered for a defensive role at Nottingham Forest.

The Tricky Trees have now welcomed Elliot Anderson to their roster, bringing a conclusion to a busy transfer window that saw Odysseas Vlachodimos, Orel Mangala, and Moussa Niakhate depart.

Forest have been linked with a number of potential recruits, including free agent Egan, who left Sheffield United.

And Egan has been mentioned as a viable alternative for Nottingham Forest to improve their defensive options this summer.

Egan, 31, joined Sheffield United in 2018 and spent six seasons at Bramall Lane.

The Irishman would most certainly be drawn to the prospect of playing at the City Ground next season.

Egan made only six appearances in the Premier League with Sheffield United last season due to injury.

The experienced centre-back would be a low-cost alternative for Nottingham Forest during the current transfer window.
