Kieran McKenna has suggested that striker Kieffer Moore could play in Ipswich Town’s forthcoming derby against Norwich City on Saturday.

The Welsh international had to be replaced early in the first half of Ipswich’s game against fellow promotion contenders Southampton. He suffered a back injury and was replaced by Ali Al-Hamadi, who signed in January.

There were concerns about his availability for the weekend, but while he is unlikely to play at Carrow Road, the manager says there is a chance.

McKenna told EADT: “Kieffer Moore has had a ‘very bad back spasm’ and hasn’t played at all this week. Knowing him, it is not impossible that he will play against Norwich, but it appears improbable. I’m hoping it’s not a long-term injury and that he’ll be ready for the games next week.”
