NFL coaches praised Kirby Smart during the combine

It’s difficult to turn on an NFL game without seeing a Georgia player somewhere on the field.

The Bulldogs have traditionally been an NFL pipeline, but the flow of talent to the league from Athens has never been greater. Georgia has smashed many draft records under head coach Kirby Smart, and they do not appear to be slowing down any time soon.

That kind of production, paired with winning back-to-back national titles, will get the attention of the pros. During the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, several coaches praised Kirby Smart’s performance at Georgia.

Raheem Morris, in his first summer as Atlanta Falcons head coach, was asked about his connection with Smart. Morris expressed jealousy over his friendship with Kirby Smart. “Let’s go get some championships like that guy…” They’ve done nothing but develop an excellent program. Again, everything begins with the people.

Just watching him win titles. It’s been entertaining to see. It’s been exciting to see Georgia produce such talented individuals… I know where I reside now is a major Georgia contingency. I need to buy my Bulldog hats and support what those guys are doing.”

Later in the day, Zach Klein of WSB-TV asked Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni for “one DNA trait” that best describes Georgia athletes under Kirby Smart. “Toughness, correct? “Toughness,” Sirianni explained. “Obviously, the Georgia players we recruited and have on our team are very excellent.

Right now, we have two first-round picks in Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, as well as Nolan Smith. We have a third-rounder in Nakobe [Dean] and a fourth-rounder in Kelee [Ringo]. So, they’re tough, physical, and know how to win, and they’re also very talented football players.”

The NFL Scouting Combine begins on Thursday, February 29th.
