Nebraska football’s Dylan Raiola takes recruitment to the next level, planning a fan event to wow top OT target David Sanders and capitalize on their existing relationship.

When Nebraska football was named to David Sanders’ final teams, many people assumed he was being polite and that the Huskers were not serious candidates. And then something strange happened. People began discussing how NU is actually in the running.

They went from being on the outside looking in to at least being a competitor. Then they went from contender to potential front-runner for the best offensive tackle in the country. They’re getting another visit.

That isn’t even the punchline. Dylan Raiola, Nebraska football’s anticipated starting quarterback, wants to make sure the Huskers don’t pass up their opportunity, and he’s asking the entire Husker crowd to help reel Sanders in.

“HUSKER NATION!!” Raiola posted on Twitter Thursday evening. “Let us welcome David Sanders home to Lincoln! We’ll meet you outside the new Tom Osborne complex tomorrow at 5:15pm!! Husker fans, GO BIG. RED. I will get him up from Omaha Eppley at 1:30pm. Let us show him some love!”

Raiola is appealing to Nebraska’s ardent football fans, who want to see the nation’s No. 2 athlete commit to the Huskers. And it appears that he wants to demonstrate the program’s overwhelming support, particularly heading into the 2024 season.

Dylan Raiola knows what makes David Sanders Jr. tick

Raiola and Sanders have known one other for a long time, and the quarterback’s decision to decommit from Georgia and commit to Nebraska has apparently piqued the offensive tackle prospect’s interest.

Sanders has already stated that Raiola treated him well during his last visit to Lincoln. There was some uncertainty that those were more than good words, but it turns out he was genuinely impressed.

The quarterback wants to do it again, and he’s hoping to do so with the full support of the Nebraska football fan base. David Sanders’ entrance will be impressive.
