One of the top OT prospects in the country is taking more trips before his August commitment, and Nebraska football could benefit.

Nebraska football’s pursuit of top OT target David Sanders Jr. has long surprised many recruiting observers throughout the country. The extent to which they are in the running remains a source of speculation.

Some argue that the Huskers were never a serious contender. Others say they may be Sanders’ dark horse in the race. However, if the Charlotte (NC) Providence Day five-star returns for a second time, they could move from dark horse to front runner.

Sanders is scheduled to make his commitment on August 17. Before he does so, he want to pay at least one more visit. And the vibes around those desires suggest that the visit may be to see the Nebraska football squad one more time.

Nebraska football could secure visit from top OT target ahead of commitment

According to On3, the offensive lineman could make one of his final visits to a few of organizations before deciding to sign. The Huskers look to be the front-runner for that visit precisely because they have only received one thus far.

Sanders has made several trips to the other finalists for his services. The fact that NU only received one visit is one of the reasons why they have not been regarded a serious contender. However, if he makes another journey to Lincoln, everything may change.

Of course, Sanders’ family is discussing the prospect of making more visits before August 17. The offensive lineman’s mother stated that they are working to schedule a couple of visits before he makes a final decision.

There is obviously no certainty. The Nebraska football team is still swimming upstream. Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia are among the favorites to sign him. But things could change quickly in the coming weeks.
