Joe Mauer, the renowned catcher for the Minnesota Twins, has cast his first-ever ballot for the Hall of Fame!
The legendary Joe Mauer of the Minnesota Twins is on the 2023 Hall of Fame ballot for the first time, and he has just received his first vote.
According to Ryan Thibodeaux, a ballot tracker on social media:
Ballot #2 is from a voter who wishes to remain anonymous. Joe Mauer receives his first vote as a Hall of Fame candidate and Adrián Beltré his second.
After being inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame in August, Mauer has had an incredible year and is now eligible to vote in Cooperstown.
From 2004 until 2018, Mauer was a member of the Twins, earning the unique distinction of having played for one team his entire career. The native of Minnesota was a lifetime.Hitter with 306 and 143 home runs. In addition to winning three Gold Gloves, three batting crowns, and an MVP award, he was chosen an All-Star six times. He formed one of the greatest trios in the history of the group with Justin Morneau and Johan Santana.
