Milan reawaken interest in midfielder who is leaving Nottingham Forest

AC Milan will want to strengthen their midfield during the upcoming summer transfer window, and a familiar name has emerged as a potential target.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) includes a feature titled ‘The Dominguez theory is back in trend’. The Rossoneri are looking for a defensive midfielder, and Nico Dominguez could be a potential candidate.

The former Bologna player now plays for Nottingham Forest, but the Rossoneri scouted him and were associated with him for weeks and months before the Argentine opted to move to the Premier League.

However, his season in England has not gone as planned, with Forest being in a relegation struggle all season; as a result, it is not impossible that he would decide to change teams again, possibly returning to Italy. The athlete stated that he waited for Milan.

Milan has other midfield options, including Youssouf Fofana of Monaco, Renato Veiga of Basel, and Sofyan Amrabat, who will return to Fiorentina after his loan term at Manchester United ends.

Forest paid €10 million plus €5 million in bonuses to sign Dominguez from Fiorentina, but it is unclear whether they intend to just recoup this sum or sell for a profit. Milan has already done business with them, specifically with the loan of Divock Origi.
