Mike Milbury mentioned the player who’s key to leading Boston to Game 6 victory and called him name

Jeremy Swayman has been exceptional in net for the Bruins throughout the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Boston goaltender has stopped 322 shots in 11 games, with a.933 save percentage and a 2.16 goals-against average.

During an appearance on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” on Thursday, former Bruins player and coach Mike Milbury stated Swayman is one of the keys to leading Boston to a Game 6 victory.

“You gotta have Swayman being a showstopper or Swaystopper,” Milbury stated. “He must be on top of his game. I believe it was beneficial for him to have two days off.

“The schedule has been ideal for using only one goaltender.” You play every other day, followed by a two-day respite… Enough to bring them back and refocus. “This guy (Swayman) appears to be as focused as anyone.”

Along with Swayman’s effort in net, Milbury believes the Bruins should build on their performance in Game 5.

“The pathway to a win is pretty much the same path they were on in Game 5,” Milbury stated. “Quick exits out of the zone with were preferable. The passing was considerably crisper, and I believe the goal was to avoid taking penalties. Especially not with so many men on the ice penalty, which is absurd.

“I thought Florida’s power play moved the puck pretty well. Swayman had to make some incredible saves, so they must keep out of the box. Somehow, (the Bruins’) power play needs to generate more than it has, because it has been anemic for the most part.”

Florida has six power-play goals in the series after going 0 for 11 with the man advantage in four regular-season games this season. On the ice, Boston had only one power-play goal in 14 attempts.

Milbury expects the Bruins to be focused when they take the floor for Game 6 at home.

“I think the way that they played in the last game may have rejuvenated their ambitions and that’s a great thing,” he stated. “I am looking forward to a great game. I can’t promise anyone a win, but I believe people will be pumped up in both the locker room and the stands.”

The Black and Gold are in a must-win situation going into Game 6, as the Panthers lead the best-of-seven series 3-2. The puck drop from TD Garden is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. The game will air on TNT, but you can see before and postgame programming on NESN and NESN+.
