Michigan football is the frontrunner to acquire a 2025 CB

On Saturday, Michigan football added Jahmari DeLoatch, a three-star prospect according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, to their list of 2025 cornerbacks.

DeLoatch, based in Chesapeake, Virginia, is placed 540th overall. He is also ranked 51st among cornerbacks, standing 5 feet 10 and weighing 160 pounds. However, 247 Sports ranks DeLoatch far higher, at No. 222 overall. We’ve had this debate many times, but even with Jim Harbaugh gone, I trust the Michigan football coaching staff’s evaluations far more than recruiting analysts.

Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, and Vanderbilt joined Michigan in the top five football rankings. There is currently no decision date for DeLoatch.

Where does Michigan football stand with Jahmari DeLoatch?

The Wolverines have to be considered the favored in this recruitment. No disrespect, but U-M is far more prestigious than the other programs in the mix. Michigan is the defending national champion, and no other teams, with the exception of Cincinnati (now in the Big 12), have advanced to the College Football Playoff.

At the moment, all three crystal ball projections favor Michigan football. EJ Holland and Zach Libby of The Wolverine have both submitted expert estimates favoring the Wolverines for the On3 prediction machine. The prediction system offers the Wolverines a 99.5 percent probability of securing DeLoatch’s pledge, implying that he could be one of the next to join the 2025 class.
